A few hours beforePersona 5 Royallaunched in Japan,Atlus published a statementasking players to follow their guidelines when sharing content from the game.

The most important part of the announcement is how Atlus prohibited players from sharing or streamingPersona 5 Royalvideos or screenshots, starting from the in-game date of December 24 until the ending. This is the same range thatProducer Wada mentioned a few months ago when sharing restrictions were first brought up.

As for other parts ofP5R, if you’re planning to stream them, Atlus asks to please properly mark spoilers if you’ll stream story content, to not stream using anything else than the PlayStation Share function, to not make BGM videos, and to include the copyrights logos ©ATLUS ©SEGA. And then you have the usual streaming conditions any game has and which I won’t bother translating, like “don’t slander the game or other players”.

Atlus said any content which doesn’t follow these guidelines is subject to deletion and discontinuation. And apparently you’ll get various curses from Justine and Caroline.

Atlus also mentioned these guidelines were made so everyone can enjoyPersona 5 Royalwithout getting spoiled.

This isn’t surprising as Atlus has been doing that for years now. In the past, I believe certain videos would get striked by Atlus, like reuploads of official videos, or spoiler videos, but I think they do that much less nowadays. It’s not like they can check anything anyway, and I’m pretty sure there will be videos on YouTube showing the new Palace inP5Rwho will never be striked. Moreover, the originalPersona 5had similar streaming restrictions, and they got slightly relaxed a long while after it released. Something similar will probably happen withPersona 5 Royalin the future.

Persona 5 Royallaunches in Spring 2020 in the west, on PS4. I’ll be playing the Japanese version and write my thoughts on it in a few days. Meanwhile,Persona 5 Scramblelaunches onFebruary 20in Japan on PS4 and Switch. The game wasn’t announced in the west yet but it’ll definitely come over.
