Sega and Atlus streamed on September 6 the 5th Morgano’s Report video, revealing morePersona 5 Royalinfo and gameplay. This time we got a closer look at some of the new events scattered throughout the main story, and some of the new confidant scenes. We also got an explanation of the new features of the Velvet Room.
The first new scene shown is Joker, Morgana, Ryuji, and Yusuke at some festival during summer. Next ee see again, the school public cleanup event, and Joker eating with Kasumi. We also see Takuto joining them and asking why Kasumi’s eating so much. Joker can also now invite people to hang out at new places such as Nakano and Shinagawa.
InPersona 5 Royal, we’ll also receive calls from people we hang out a lot with. Certain confidant abilities, like Ryuji’s or Chihaya’s, also got changed too. While it wasn’t officially confirmed yet, I believe Chihaya’s new scenes will be voiced by Haruka Terui, as her original seiyuu Miyu Matsuki sadly passed away in 2015.
Next, Morgana answered more questions from fans, revealing more info: While they didn’t show any, Joker has Show Time attacks as well. Show Time are the new, powerful duo attacks. Morgana said Joker’s Show Time attack will only unlock in the endgame. That’s just a guess of mine, but I’m betting it’s a duo attack with Goro, and it unlocks in the new Palace.

Morgana also revealed the title screen menu forPersona 5 Royal,seen at the timestamp above. The “???” menu must be the archives menu they previously mentioned, to rewatch cutscenes, etc.
Next, we got to hear explanations on the new features of the Velvet Room. First is the Fusion Alarm, which was mentioneda while agobut left unexplained. When this happens, the personas you fuse will end up stronger. Their skills can end up randomly shuffled too.
Next, they showed the Challenge Battles. You get points by dealing damage to enemies, unlocking rewards like rare items. The footage stole by Morgana ended by remembering us Joker can now hang out with Justine and Caroline in the real world.
Atlus recently revealed thethird full-length trailer forPersona 5 Royal,All of the party members got a new introduction trailer forPersona 5 Royal:Joker,Kasumi,Ryuji,Ann,Yusuke,Makoto.Futaba,Haru,andMorgana.Goro’s trailer was shown during thegame’s first live stream, where Atlus most notably talked about streaming restrictions.
PS4 exclusivePersona 5 Royallaunches on October 31 in Japan and inSpring 2020 in the west.
Meanwhile, more info on PS4, SwitchMusougamePersona 5 Scramblewill come on October 24. Meaning it won’t get any new announcements at Tokyo Game Show 2019, and won’t be part of the billion of games I’ll need to worry about covering from September 12 to 15.
