June 11, 2025, marks the 25th anniversary of the firstPanzer Dragoongame on Sega Saturn. On this symbolic date, Wildman Inc. announcedPanzer Dragoon Voyage Record(tentative title), a VRPanzer Dragoongame that includes various stages from three Sega Saturn games of the series:Panzer Dragoon,Panzer Dragoon Zwei, andPanzer Dragoon Saga.Panzer Dragoon Voyage Recorduses a first-person view optimized for a VR headset and VR controllers. The game will only be playable in VR. WhileVoyage Recordisn’t a full VR port of the three beforementionedPanzer Dragongames, it will feature updated graphics. The screenshot above is in-development.
ThePanzer Dragoon VRofficial Twitter most notably explained how the Blue Dragon (TYPE-01) appearing in the game was made byHunyunof KSDesignLab, who 3D scanned a Garage Kit figurine made by Yoshikazu Yamamoto (Nashinokiya). He’s one of the artists who regularly exposePanzer Dragoongarage kits at Wonder Festivals twice a year.

The list of the stages included inPanzer Dragoon Voyage Recordand the game’s platforms will be announced at a later date.Panzer Dragoon VRwill launch in the 2020 Japanese fiscal year, which ends on the last day of March 2021. The game will be priced at 6900 Yen (tax excluded) in Japan.
Wildman Inc.is both the developer and published ofPanzer Dragoon Voyage Record, licensed by Sega. For a few years now, Winldman Inc. is also developingThe Gunner of Dragoon, a VR game similar toPanzer Dragoon. You can find a gameplay video of it below.
This is such an obvious VR adaptation choice of a Sega classic that I was initially pretty surprised when it realized it doesn’t exist yet. Along with the newly releasedSpace Channel 5 VR, this is definitely the kind of game that makes me actually consider buying expensive VR equipment.
The firstPanzer Dragoongame is also getting a remake. It was first announcedback in 2018and a first trailer wasrevealed at E3 2019. The officialPanzer Dragoon RemakeTwitter accountregularly shares artwork and in-development footage of the game.
