PublisherBandai Namcoand developer ILCA announced during the Jump Festa 2023 thatOne Piece Odysseywill get a demo version for PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X on July 19, 2025. Players will get a taste of the upcoming RPG three days prior to its release.
It has also been revealed that player data from the demo version will be carried over to the main game when it launches on January 13. This limited version of One Piece Odyssey features a slice of the gameplay from the beginning, giving players an insight into what to expect from its open world, role-playing elements, combat, and dungeons. It will be different from the game’s open beta due to its proximity to the launch date.

Bandai Namco released a new cinematic trailer for One Piece Odyssey, showing characters revisiting memories from their past adventures. The trailer features interactions between the Straw Hats and antagonists before combat, as well as snippets from familiar locations like Alabasta, Marineford, and Water Seven.
Odyssey is being developed in collaboration with Eiichiro Oda, the mangaka of One Piece. Both character and monster designs, as well as the main plot, have been produced based on the anime, with the soundtrack scored by composer Motoi Sakuraba.
Players will be taking the role of series protagonist Luffy as he explores Waford Island and gathers his storm-scattered crew members. They will encounter never-before-seen monsters while traversing ruins and dungeons. Each character in the Straw Hat Pirates, including Nami, Roronoa Zoro, and Usopp offers a different combat prowess and skills to utilize during combat.
One Piece Odyssey is being developed by ILCA, the Japanese studio behind Pokemon Home and Pokemon Shining Pearl. The game will be released for Xbox Series S|X, PS4, PS5, and PC on January 13 worldwide.
