With the reveal of Loki’s character inOne Piece, Eiichiro Oda has made the narrative even more complex than it was before. Loki was one of the most anticipated characters for the fans considering his importance in Elbaph, but it looks like fans will have to wait a few more days to find out more about him as theOne Piecemanga has gone on a two-week hiatus.
As of now, the only information known about Loki is that he killed his father, King Harald, to gain access to the legendary Devil Fruit, and he calls himself the Sun God, who will bring ruin to theOne Pieceworld. The biggest mystery, on the other hand, is the ability of the Devil Fruit that he stole. Evidently, it made him the strongest Giant in Elbaph.
While fans have been trying to figure out Loki’s Devil Fruit, theOne Piecetheory claims that Oda had already hinted at the properties of his Devil Fruit during the Dressrosa arc. Not only that, it also justifies his role as the contender for the title of Sun God inOne Piece.
One PieceTheory Explains Loki’s Devil Fruit Abilities
According to a theory posted byu/nenhatsuon Reddit, Loki’s Devil Fruit is the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Surtr. In Norse mythology, Surtr was a Fire Giant, and that too was the strongest of them all. The mythology states that Surtr was the one who caused Ragnarök, a series of events that led to the end of the world. This perfectly connects to Loki’s declaration of ruining the world.

Another fact that hints Loki’s Devil Fruit is connected to Surtr is that Surtr’s main power was his flames that engulfed the earth. During Dressrosa, Hajrudin entered the Corrida Colosseum to compete for the Mera Mera no Mi, and he claimed that once he wins the Devil Fruit, he will become the King of Giants. This was probably a hint from Oda.
Hajrudin needed the power of flames to counter Loki, who evidently stole his birthright of being the king by killing his father andtaking control of the legendary Devil Fruit. There is a chance that he believed he could have only won fairly against Loki if he also had the power of fire in his arsenal, just like the accursed prince.
Loki Will Compete For The Title of Sun God With Luffy
When Luffy was declared the Sun God Nika during the Wano arc, fans felt like it was his time to take on the grand role of saving theOne Pieceworld. He also fulfilled it by fighting the Five Elders together during the Egghead Island arc. But the epic twist dropped byEiichiro Odawith Loki’s declaration of being the Sun God makes things more confusing.
Although Luffy doesn’t know yet that he is the Sun God (and he probably won’t care), Loki claiming the title for himself makes them opponents. On top of that, if the theory about Loki having the Hito Hito no Mi: Model Surtr comes true, his role as the Sun God will be strengthened.
