Blackbeard might have already committed enough sins to make him a potential target of Luffy and some other pirates inOne Piece. But a recentOne Piecechapter reveals that he might be reaching to do something that will strengthen his status as an antagonist even more.

Fans react to Laffitte betraying Marshall D. Teach

As the siege on Mary Geoise is in full swing, Blackbeard might try to waste the efforts of the Revolutionary Army for his personal gains. His actions might make him a direct target of Luffy.

Blackbeard is Closely Observing the Situation at Mary Geoise

During the Wano Country Arc, the commanders of the Revolutionary Army made their move on Mary Geoise. They destroyed the statue of the World Noble symbol, effectively declaring war on the World Government. They also destroyed the food storage facility of Mary Geoise so that the nobles would suffer hunger for once and understand how the slaves felt. They freed as many slaves as possible, including Kuma.

During the Egghead Arc, it was revealed that the World Nobles had already started complaining about the lack of food since Sabo destroyed their food supply, and the Revolutionary Army is blocking supply ships. In chapter 1126, it was revealed that Blackbeard had sent Lafitte to observe the situation at Mary Geoise.

Lafitte reported that the siege of the Revolutionary Army was proving to be effective as all supplies from foreign nations had been halted. The sabotaged bondolas are also crashing, and the Celestial Dragons might really starve if this keeps going on. Blackbeard then claimed that this wasn’t the time to sit back and watch and ordered Lafitte and his crew to get ready.

Blackbeard Might Curry Favor with the World Government inOne Piece

While the Revolutionary Army surrounds the Mary Geoise, the World Government cannot supply any food to the Celestial Dragons. Their efforts to defeat the pirates have also been ineffective. However, if Blackbeard steps forward with his crew, the Revolutionary Army is bound to face tough opposition.

TheOne Piececommunity has begun to believe that Blackbeard intends to aid the Celestial Dragons by using the Devil Fruit powers of Caribou. Caribou’s devil fruit allows his body to become a bottomless swamp that can store a massive number of objects till he chooses to unload them. This power is perfect for smuggling food supplies to the World Nobles.

By helping the World Government,Blackbeard can curry significant favorwith them. In fact, he islikely to give up Garpto the Cross Guild and collect his price, thus getting even more chummy with the World Government. If Blackbeard decides to support the Celestial Dragons and sacrifice Garp, he will definitely fall under the radar of Monkey D. Luffy.

Thus,a battle between the two crewsbecomes inevitable, especially since Luffy’s grandfather is now in the mix, and he hates anyone related to the Celestial Dragons after having witnessed their brutality firsthand.
