There are a bunch of different areas inElden Ring, and all of these areas have a character. Limgrave are the planes of the Lands Between, all green and beautiful. There are beaches populated with large octopi. There is a whole area covered with poisoned liquid, and there is a place where scarlet rot rules supreme.

Scarlet is one of the scariest things for any gamer inElden Ring. It catches onto players like poison, but it’s actually rotting them from the inside. It’s so dangerous that it took away the whole body of the Malenia Blade of Miquella, and it took pretty much everything from General Radahn. Now, a theory suggests that this problem could have been worse if not for this boss.
Did Regal Ancestor Spirit stop the scarlet rot in theElden Ring?
Scarlet rot is a big problem inElden Ring; it eats through one’s health like a hot knife through butter. The problem is that there’s a whole area surrounded by this disease. It was called Caelid, and that place was corrupted with that disease by Malenia when his fight with Radahn came to a standstill.

She infected him and the whole area around them, and she also gave up pretty much all of her life force to do that attack. It worked; it destroyed all that was General Radahn. He went mad and now roams the desserts, devouring his own fellow warriors.
But one might not realize that scarlet rot could have been a much larger problem for the Lands Between if it wasn’t for a fairy and a blind swordsman. It is said that a blind swordsman who was clad in blue was able to seal away the ancient god, who was the embodiment of rot himself.

This protected everyone from his wrath. Now, this does not mean that the god was stopped completely; he was about to curse Malenia. He was also able to spread his curse through his host. But one thing is for sure: if he were free, things could have been way worse than they are today.
But how did this blind swordsman achieve this feat? How can one just seal away a god with such horrific powers? It is said that a fairy gave him a curved blade patterned after the water. And this blade is what helped him achieve this complicated task.

This fairy is called the dancer in blue. And there’s oneoptional bosswith a blueish hue around it who dances around as players fight it. It’s none other than the Regal Ancestor Spirit, and it’s located in the Ainsel River too, the same place where the god of rot has been sealed by the blind swordsman.

This interesting theory was offered by a very curious Redditor and hardcore fan,Crow-Of-Judgement. They suggest that the Regal Ancestor Spirit handed over that blade to the blind swordsman. This is a very unique subject too, as people hardly discuss these characters much. No one talks about the blind swordsman, and no one talks about the Regal Ancestor Spirit. But theories like these really make one realize how big this game is.
The Blind Swordsman did a lot more after completing his mission
Yes, the blind swordsman locked up the god of rot somewhere around the lake of rot. His story did not end right there though, he decided to explore the Lands Between and came across a very unexpected hero, Malenia.
It is said that he was the one who taught her to master the rot inside her and become an unattached warrior.
