On August 04, 2025, Netflixdroppedthe first official teaser for the new fantasy drama seriesOne Hundred Years of Solitude. The series is based on Colombian novelist Gabriel García Márquez’s 1967 novel of the same name, titledCien Años de Soledadin Spanish.
The first look teaser gives viewers a look at the world masterfully crafted by Márquez almost 50 years ago through his novel. The book is considered Márquez’s magnum opus and follows a multi-generational story of the Buendía family and their connection to the mysteries in the town of Macondo.

The book has sold more than 50 million copies and its critical reception contributed to Márquez winning a Nobel Prize for Literature in 1982. The teaser not only gives viewers a glimpse of the literary masterpiece’s narrative but also features the line:
“Many years later, as he faced the firing squad, Colonel Aureliano Buendía was to remember that distant afternoon when his father took him to discover ice.”
