When it comes to FromSoftware games, there are always those who are attempting to find some link between them, and this gamer theorises thatElden RingandBloodborneare linked in their own fan theory, and in all honesty, it makes a fair bit of sense.

Could The Lands Between somehow be a dream world?

To be safe, here is a little disclaimer: this is only a fan theory from a gamer and has not been confirmed or denied by FromSoftware. Understandably, anything mentioned in this fan theory can easily be jotted down to the fact that the games are both designed by one developer and will always have similarities, but there is just something about this theory that stands out above all the rest and has even been assisted by some of the commenters on Reddit.

What is the fan theory regarding Elden Ring and Bloodborne being connected?

As stated above, there is always going to be a reason that both of these games have been developed by FromSoftware and will share small similarities that may have been overlooked in the development process, as one mind can only create so many different entities.

However, according to Reddit userFlunkiebubs, there is a completely new angle that many gamers have overlooked that could blow this case right open, and that is the fact that The Lands Between, which is the world ofElden Ring, is actually The Dream fromBloodborne.

One gamer theorises that Elden Ring is just another dream world, just like in Bloodborne.

To explain this as easily as possible, in the world ofBloodborne, you will constantly enter numerous different locations, but one stands out above the rest. This is The Hunters Dream, which is essentially your player characters hub world, where you buy weapons, upgrade your character, and enter Chalice dungeons.

What makes this so interesting is the fact that The Hunter’s Dream isn’t in fact the “real” world, but it is in fact real, as it acts like an alternate plane of existence. Now, the dream worlds aren’t made naturally; the ones inBloodbornewere originally made by an old god known as The Moon Presence, and they each have a certain use.

This fan theory suggests thatElden Ringis actually one of these dream worlds that have been crafted by The Moon Presense, as it is known to create these dream worlds to contain and punish certain beings.

Since The Dreams and The Lands Between have a rather similar eerie glow to them, a limited amount of space seemingly ends with a giant wall of fog at the end of the sea and shares the idea of life and death just like The Dreams inBloodborne, which pushes forward the notion that The Lands Between is in fact a dream.

What other information points towards the Lands Between Being a Dream crafted by the Moon Presence?

Without going too much into detail, there are a few characters who share some similarities withBloodborneand would fit right in with the description of certain characters.

For example, one part of this fan theory suggests that the dark moon that Ranni worships inElden Ringcould in fact be the Moon Presence itself. Since we only encounter The Moon Presence inBloodborneas we complete the game, which takes place within The Hunters Dream, it would make sense that in each dream world, there could be a version of the Moon Presence sustaining the dream.

Canonically speaking, this would make sense inBloodborne, as once you defeat The Moon Presence, your player character will ultimately take the place of The Moon Presence, as there must always be someone watching over the dream.

Since Ranni is worshipping the dark moon, this could suggest that our player characters fromBloodbornesucceeded in their task of defeating the Moon Presence, ultimately becoming the new dark moon, creating a whole new cycle with an entirely new dream.

Even though this is a rather bizarre fan theory, it does have a lot of evidence pointing towards some validity, but right now it is just a theory like any other. What do you think about this theory aboutElden RingandBloodborne? Do you thinkElden Ringis a dream made up by the moon presence? Let us know in the comments what you think!
