Hardware Sales in 2024 Continue to Drop
While software sales rose, the sale of video game hardware and consoles dropped 23% in October compared to 2023. The Nintendo Switch, which will have a successor announced in what feels like any day now, saw a fall of 38% in sales year-to-year. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S saw more steady declines at 20% and 18% respectively.
The PS5 was the best-selling hardware in October, followed by the Xbox Series X|S.
