In an interview withWccftech, Suda 51 provides updates onNo More Heroes 3including how far along it is and the scale of its open world.
When asked how far along the game is, Suda 51 said the game is “about 35-40 percent complete.” Additionally, he said that while Grasshopper Manufacture has made some big games,No More Heroes 3won’t be their biggest.
“It will definitely be a bigger open world than the originalNo More Heroes, but you have to remember that we’re a middle-class studio in terms of size,” says Suda 51. “It takes a lot of skills, wisdom, and resources to make an open-world game, so it won’t be as big as something you see from huge companies like Ubisoft or Rockstar.”
Suda also confirms the return of motion controls to the series. He goes onto say the challenge with adding them came from the Nintendo Switch’s hardware capabilities. Additionally, he confirms actor and composer Nobuaki Kanko will work on the game’s soundtrack.
“It will have about the amount of side-missions you’d expect from aNo More Heroesgame, along with some other extras as well,” continues Suda. When asked to elaborate on what the extras will be, Suda said “they’ll be something…greater. Something different than your standard minigame.”
When asked when fans can see more footage from the game, Suda said they’ll release something later this year of next year. Additionally, he described one of the game’s boss battles as a mix of Thanos, Venom, and Joker. We’ll have to wait and see what that epic boss fight will look like.
