It was revealed on the Nintendo Today app (now confirmed onVideo Games Chronicle)that Donkey Kong Bonanza is getting its own Direct, which should hopefully reveal more information about certain missing characters.
Donkey Kong Bananza Direct Coming June 18
Nintendo has confirmed that the Donkey Kong Bananza Direct will take place on August 25, 2025. As of the time of writing, no start time/time zones have been given, nor has the duration of the showcase been revealed.
The first Nintendo Switch 2 Directrevealed a lotabout Donkey Kong Bananza’s gameplay, such as its destructible environments. However, there are still some things fans are curious about, such as Pauline from the original arcade game making an appearance, as was leaked via an early screenshot.
Theabsence of Diddy Kongand Dixie Kong has also been noted, with fans hopeful that they’re being saved for a dedicated co-op mode that has yet to be revealed.
Donkey Kong Bananza is set to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on July 17, so Nintendo will be hyping it up, as it’s the first big console exclusive after it has launched. This means fans should expect some exciting news about the game, and may even get a reason to shell out the $70 Nintendo is charging for the game.
