Star Wars Tactics Game Will Be A Reality Soon
The still-untitled game will be a Star Wars title that is a turn-based tactics game. If you’re not familiar with the genre, think of the XCOM franchise, Final Fantasy Tactics and the like.
Based on thetweet by the official Lucasfilm GamesTwitter/X account, it will be developed by Bit Reactor. Although the studio hasn’t released any standalone games yet, it has helped develop titles such as XCOM, Civilization, Gears of War, and more. It’s unknown whether the studio will solely develop this new Star Wars tactical game.
Interestingly enough, theofficial Star Wars pageabout the upcoming event mentions Bit Reactor hosting a developer panel featuring Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games.

Based on the wording, the turn-based tactics game will be the only game discussed in the panel. Does this mean Respawn is co-developing with Bit Reactor. Seeing this initially, I thought it meant that Respawn was going to unveil the third chapter of the Star Wars Jedi game, which we know isin development to wrap up the trilogy.

Will this Star Wars turn-based tactics game be a AAA production or one that’s aimed at mobile devices? If Respawn’s somehow involved, chances are, this is set for consoles and PC. While we’ve had loads of Star Wars first-person and third-person action games, one that’s turn-based? Yeah, not so much.
Let’s hope Bit Reactor blows our blasters of our holsters when the game is revealed on April 19.
