What new games are coming out on PS5 and PS4 this week? Well, not much, actually - it’s a really, really quiet week for new PlayStation releases, though there are a couple of standouts worth talking about.
RELATED:PlayStation Stars May Have A Hidden Fifth TierOverwatch 2 is this week’s headline act on PS5 and PS4, with the sequel releasing on Tuesday, October 4th. The sequel to the hit multiplayer hero shooter is releasing as an Early Access game, meaning it’s not quite the full package and bugs and glitches are to be expected as the development team irons out the kinks after opening the game up to players. What’s more is that, unlike the original game, you won’t have to pay an entrance fee as Overwatch 2 is releasing as a free-to-play game. It’ll be replacing the original Overwatch and all of your progress, skins, and other stats will automatically transfer to Overwatch 2. Nifty, eh?
If competitive multiplayer doesn’t do it for you then perhaps Alfred Hitchcock - Vertigo is worth a look. The game has already been out on PC since late last year anduser reviews on Steamare very positive, with many reviews noting the slow, tense build-up being perfectly aligned with the legendary director’s own style of storytelling.
Another PC game making the jump to PS5 this week is Medieval Dynasty, a game that will surely resonate with fans of ye goode olde days. You take on the role of a poor man who must hunt, craft, and trade to survive - all in the colorful setting of middle-age Europe. You start off as a nobody but, if you want, you can use your skills and resources to become the lord of the land with workers toiling your fields for you. The game bills itself as a genre-mix with elements of survival, sim, strategy, and RPG. Again, this one has been on PC since late last year and much like the other entries in the Dynasty series, it’sheld in high regard by fans.
