If you were hoping for a patch forThe Last of Us Part 2on your new PS5, you could be in luck sooner rather than later.
Yesterday, aResetEramember in a PS5 thread asked if they should wait to pick upThe Last of Us 2with industry insider Navtra replying “I know a patch was in the works at some point but I’m not sure if it’s still happening or when,” Navtra continued. “I’d be surprised if it doesn’t get a patch, though.” What makes this comment from Navtra interesting is that they have a nose for uncovering information before it’s officially released and who also correctly predicted the announcements in last year’sPS5 showcasein which Sony showcasedHorizon Forbidden Westfootage,Demon’s Soulsremake and others.

In November last year, we saw a Best Buy store listing thatThe Last of Us Part 2would featurea next-gen upgradewhich even then hinted that an upgrade for the PS5 is on its way, but it could have either been a mistake or in reference to the enhanced version that supports haptic feedback on the PS5. Either way, we won’t know any of this for sure until Naughty Dog officially announces it so until then, let’s take this all with a small pinch of salt. In saying that though, I don’t see any reason why the studio wouldn’t want to patch their game for the PS5. We shall wait and see.
