Fans of the OG Netflix show were in an uproar since their Daredevil would never have jokes like these. Many fans argued that the 2015 Netflix showDaredevildid not have humor but turns out, they were wrong.

Daredevil, and more specifically Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, had a great sense of humor which is not for everyone. The character would often joke about serious situations with a dry joke and it was that dry humor that people loved about the OG show.

Fans took to Reddit to talk about the dry humor of Daredevil and how the jokes weren’t meant for everyone, let alone a family-oriented cinematic universe.

Fans on Reddit talked about how this sense of humor that Matt Murdock possessed is what they loved about the show.

Well, it was in 2022 when Charlie Cox appeared alongside Tatiana Maslany in the MCU showShe-Hulk: Attorney at Law.The character seemed to be trying a little hard to be funny and he was bound by a TV-14 rating.

However, the original Daredevil did not care about the ratings since Netflix’sDaredevilwas rated TV-MA (equivalent to an A rating). Although Marvel has reportedly confirmed that the show is going to be TV-MA, it seems that Matt Murdock’s sense of humor is something that fans will have to see for themselves.

Charlie Cox was given the silent treatment for two years

It was quite a journey forCharlie Coxto don the iconic costume of Daredevil for a second time since the Netflix show concluded in 2018.No one knew about the future of Matt Murdockand whether he would reappear anywhere at all.

According to a report byVariety, Marvel president Kevin Feige called Cox in mid-2020 and informed him that he is planning to bringing back these characters to the MCU.

We stopped shooting the original show at the end of 2016, beginning of 2018 and found out it was canceled somewhere in that period. And then it wasn’t until midway through 2020 that we got a phone call from Kevin saying that they were interested in bringing the characters back.

Although Cox was overjoyed to receive this phone call, there were no updates from Kevin Feige for two whole years. Cox gave up hope that he would ever reprise the role of Daredevil again.

Cox revealed that he later received another phone call in 2022 when Feige stated their entire plan of bringing Matt Murdock back (properly) and giving him his own series calledDaredevil: Born Again.

With Cox reprising the iconic role,Daredevil: Born Againis slated for a release in March 2025 and will be available to stream on Disney+ in the U.S.
