An announcement regarding the nextCall of Dutyprobably won’t come until the middle of the year, but various insiders have all corroborated that Infinity Ward is hard at work on a sequel to 2019’s reboot ofModern Warfare.

Modern Warfare 2 Will Include ‘Attackers vs. Defenders’ Mode

According toRalphsValve, a trusted industry insider when it comes to all thingsCall of Duty, the Attackers vs. Defenders mode will feature a similar style map toCall of Duty 4’s CQB test, but will of course be much larger in scale.

The objective of the new mode will depend on if players are attacking or defending, but the aim is to reach or defend objectives within a designated area on the map.

According to RalphsValve, each player on the attacking team will be assigned a role per a general vote. The team will also nominate a team leader, with each round including a debrief period for players to switch up their roster.

Whilst the enemy team gear up to attack, defenders will need to methodise a strategy to slow down or completely eliminate the attackers. The defenders will be able to utilise hidden locations, cameras, and boobytraps, whilst also fortifying the location.
