Pokemon Legends: Z-A is bringing Mega Evolutions back to the series, with most of the ones from Gen 6 & 7 returning. It has been confirmed that new ones are on the way, withMega Dragonite being the first. It’s unknown how many will appear in the game, or how they’ll be spread across the generations, as the ones revealed so far have been restricted to Gen 1.

While reception toMega Dragonite’s design was mixed, it’s now being joined by a Gen 1 Mega with a cool look. In a new trailer on The Official Pokemon YouTube Channel, Mega Victreebel was showcased, with a whole new terrifying appearance.
Mega Victreebel Is Coming To Pokemon Legends: Z-A
In an awesome found footage-style trailer, a duo of Pokemon trailers are exploring a spooky building. On the top floor, they encounter a trainer whose Mega Victreebel has gone berserk. Fortunately, it turns out to be a misunderstanding.
A second trailer on The Official Pokemon YouTube Channel has shown in-game footage of Mega Victreebel in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, where it hunts Bug-type ‘Mons. It’s currently unclear how it will function in-game, such as whether it gains a powerful new Ability that will make it viable in competitive. The Pokemon Company has revealed that its type remains unchanged, staying as a Grass/Poison-type.

Following on from the disappointment of Mega Dragonite, which just stuck wings on Dragonite’s head, Mega Victreebel is a huge step forward, actually having thought put into its design. Hopefully, it’s a sign of better aesthetics to come, asMega Evolutions offer a rare chanceto update early Pokemon, and they shouldn’t be squandered with shoddy looks.
