Mario Kart Tour, the mobile version of the popular racing battler series, will be getting a new track named Piranha Plant Cove early next week. The announcement came via a post from the game’sofficial Twitter page, and a video showing off features of the new track also appeared Friday on Nintendo Mobile’sofficial YouTube channel.

The track, which is being promoted as new not just to Mario Kart Tour, but to theMario Kartseries in general, is being released as part of the game’s Exploration Tour, which is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, February 7, at 10 p.m. Pacific Time. Mario Kart Tour features a combination of original tracks and old classics from other entries in the series, but its original tracks have also made their way to the Switchas downloadable contentfor Mario Kart 8.

From the brief look provided by the trailer, the new track will have a variety of environments with a deep-wilderness-explorer theme, including crumbling stone ruins populated by Thwomps, deep woods filled with trees and giant mushrooms, and even underwater sections. It also depicts popular series racers decked out in exploration gear, like safari helmets and headlamps, and driving karts shaped like mine carts or with bullhorns adorning their grills.

Another change on the way for the mobile title is the addition of a variety of new racing suits for the customizable Mii avatars. The game’s Twitter page on Friday posted a short video depicting a Mii in a brown and white getup for the game’s 25th wave of racing suits, and the video also includes and announcement that the 26th wave will be arriving shortly, between February 21-22 depending on your location in the world. The silhouetted wave 26 suit that is pictured in the trailer appears to be sprouting some sort of plumage from the top of its helmet.

Nintendo released the first mobile entry in its popular seriesback in September 2019and has made frequent updates to the title. While its critical reviews have been mixed, it has reached a wide audience, having been downloaded more than 90 million times in its first week of availability. Mario Kart Tour is currently free-to-play in bothsolo and multiplayer modeson iOS and Android devices with in-game purchases available.
