The power scaling inOne Pieceis barely a ladder but a tier system at this point. Characters aren’t strictly weaker than or more powerful than one another when they consistently keep improving and unlocking abilities. Even characters who were deemed at their highest point prove us wrong.
For the longest time, Kaido is the Strongest Creature in the world and foreshadowed well before the Wano Arc to be the toughest opponent. Monkey D. Luffy’s triumph over him debunked his invincibility inOne Piece.
This, however, didn’t happen so easily and not without the protagonist’s literal death. Kaido is still much more powerful than mostOne Piececharacters. So it’s quite baffling that fans believe a Marine Admiral can defeat the Strongest Creature.
Kizaru is often idolized by fans for his (literally) flashy Devil Fruit. He’s fast and eccentric, and while he is still part of the Marine’s oppressive system, he’s not nearly as corrupt as Akainu.One Piecefans often debate if the Admiral would defeat Kaido, and some are convinced he would.

Kizaru and Kaido have never met inOne Pieceand fans still want to question this. The theories never end and neither do the discussions on power scaling. Kizaru is admittedly very strong but his defeat on Egghead Island,once again in the hands of Luffy, proves he’s been outmatched ever since their last battle.
The only reason the Straw Hats survived their encounter with Kizaru was due to Silvers Rayleigh’s interference and Kuma teleporting them all. However, in the Egghead Arc, they were much more powerful and gave him a much harder time. Luffy even made the Admiral spit out blood.

Well before the Wano Arc, characters were talking about the Emperor, Kaido. Even Doflamingo, who had the power to destroy a whole country at his fingertips, feared him greatly. Luffy, who had significantly leveled up in terms of his Devil Fruit and Haki had immense trouble. He even died.
Without awakening his Devil Fruit into his true form, Luffy would’ve never stood a chance andEiichiro Odawould have had to roll the credits. But the show must go on. So what makes fans think Kizaru can take on Kaido?
One Piecefans debate about this, simply saying that if Kizaru was truly that powerful, the Summit War of Marineford would’ve been much shorter.
Even those who absolutely love Kizaru do not believe he would defeat Kaido so easily. There are very few who would be able to give him a good fight and it’s still not likely they will win.
Who could possibly defeat Kaido?
Only a few names come to mindand it’s not likely Oda will write a second round between Kaido and Luffy. The only other person in the series who has fought against the former Emperor and stopped him is Shanks, though it was off-screen.
It’s likely the Red-Haired Emperor will be able to defeat him, though Kaido has the obvious advantage with his Mythical Zoan Fruit. He’s possibly stronger than Akainu so he’s probably give Kaido a good fight but maybe not win.

The only two people who could fight him and win, despite one of them not having a Devil Fruit, are Whitebeard and Gol D. Roger. They’re dead, unfortunately, so who knows? We might never see Kaido fight again unlessOda plans otherwise.
