Gray Zone Warfareis a realistic first-person shooter set in an open universe and was developed and published by MadFinger Games in early 2024. However, it was recently noticed that a cheap knockoff title ofGray Zone Warfarewas listed on the PlayStation Store, titledGray Zone Attack.
This knock-off title is developed by a company known as “Esail” and at first glance, it seems identical to the popular tactical-slash-extraction shooter. Even the cover art of this game that is featured on the PlayStation Store is AI-made. Everything from the emblem to the gameplay is an exact replicate ofGray Zone Warfare.

When a video game title has a successful launch. numerous knockoffs often emerge on the market, aiming to capitalize on the original game’s popularity.
Another incident like this happened last year when an almost identical copy ofThe Last of Us came out on Nintendo Switch, which is known as “The Last Hope”. Even this title’s charactersare almost identical to Joel and Ellie, who are trying their best to slay the undead and look for a promising future. Consequently, the knock-off was taken down from the store soon after it was discovered.

Gray Zone Attackis currently facing the same situation, after it got listed on the PlayStation Store, with a launch date in 2025. The title is listed as a single-player shooter, whileGray Zone Warfareis a PvEvP FPS title.

As aforementioned,Gray Zone Attackis an absolute knockoff title; from the story to the characters, almost everything is a copy here. The game even copies the motto of the original title.

After this, the PR of MadFinger’s Rick Lagnese took it to X and posted a sharp dig towards this slashed version of the game.

TheGray Zone Attackwebsite describes the game as an immersive open world, featuring tactical combat with realistic weapon handling, customizable load-outs, and an advanced injury system. These features mirror those found inGray Zone Warfare, which was developed by the dedicated dev team from MadFinger.
With such unethical practices from Esail, this title might not even get the chance to see the daylight, if legal actions are taken.
