There are a lot of creative choices in Sam Raimi’s trilogy that fans remember fondly in his Spider-Man trilogy, starring Tobey Maguire, Kristen Dunst, and James Franco. As influential as these movies were, there was one thing that fans wondered about in retrospect, specifically Mary Jane’s character in the Raimi-verse.
While Mary Jane and Peter Parker were destined to be together, there was a lot of things that the former did which has led fans to question what she was thinking all along. Form cheating on multiple partners to having the worst timing possible, Mary Jane in the Raimiverse left much to be desired.
Fans are still not over Mary Jane’s antics at all
Fans have taken to the internet once again to point out what was actually wrong with Mary Jane’s characterization in the Raimi-verse, something that still is one of the most glaring flaws of Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy. Not only does she having a good thing going on with Peter, but she repeatedly cheats on every one of her significant others, be it Harry, Peter or even her fiancé.

She was out there for everybody. Spider-Man 3 Peter was justified in every way.

Mary Jane’s characterization inSam Raimi‘s films was definitely a harmful representation of the character. The character might not have ill intentions towards those who were with her, but it was definitely not healthy for her to jump from one significant other to another, especially given the emotional roller-coaster it put Peter Parker through.
It is odd to think that Peter Parker settled down with this version of Mary Jane
Mary Jane’s antics throughout the Raimi films might seem to be a little too deranged for Peter or Harry to settle down with her, but the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home implied that she and Peter figured the situation out. However, it is hard to imagine that after all she put the character through, Peter would still be open to figuring it out with her, rather than pursuing someone like Gwen Stacy, who has shown genuine interest in him.

However, Peter too was just as emotionally confused, kissing Gwen Stacy in his Spider-Man guise, while also rejecting Gwen’s advances more than once. This could simply lead to a situation where two (three if you count Harry) emotionally confused new adults were forced to deal with a situation that was further convoluted by superheroes and villains, leading to a situation that left all parties confused.
