What Happened Previously On Jujutsu Kaisen?
The chapter started with a flashback to Takaba’s university days. Young Takaba got mad at his friend for being late. They tried to practice for their show, but his friend couldn’t remember the lines. Takaba insisted on a sincere apology, and they argued. His friend said Takaba never came to parties or laughed at jokes. Takaba explained he’d laugh if the jokes were funny. The argument got worse as they blamed each other for their lack of success. It ended with Takaba throwing a punch, and his friend suggested he might be jealous because he wasn’t popular with women.
Takaba insisted on taking comedy seriously, but his friend disagreed, finding it not enjoyable to perform with him. They read negative comments about Takaba’s act. A colleague comforted him, saying not everyone would like their humor. Later, Takaba’s friend talked about quitting, frustrated with their unstable lives. Takaba tried to encourage him, but his friend exploded, questioning how long they could continue. Takaba wondered how long, and his answer was to keep going until they’d explored everything funny.

Takaba confessed his loneliness, wanting people to know him better through comedy. Young Takaba asked why he did comedy, and he realized he’d been fooling himself, not taking it seriously to avoid getting hurt. In the present, Kenjaku was about to attack, but he stopped when Takaba bowed sincerely. Kenjaku was captivated by the bow and Takaba’s heartfelt apology. Takaba vowed to make everyone laugh, even if most didn’t find it funny. His Cursed Technique returned, and he wrote ‘Waku Waku’ (excited) on Kenjaku’s face.
