Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 223 Spoilers

The chapter starts with a discussion between Ijichi and Gojo, where the former asks the latter about the Prison Realm experience. Gojo says that it feels the same as when someone is very busy with work. While a week feels really short, it also feels quite long enough that you don’t want to feel it again. Gojo and his teammates are currently at the same place where the curses first appeared at Shibuya.

Upon asking about the people affected by his Unlimited Void during the Shibuya incident, Ijichi replies that they all have recovered, after which Gojo goes to the top of the building and prepares himself for the battle. The chapter then shifts to Sukuna and Uraume, and the latter replies that although the battle is going to happen today, they are not aware of the time and place. Sukuna replies that he can already sense a strong aura from a building far away, so there’s no need to decide that.

We then see a brief flashback; where Gakuganji is telling Gojo that he killed Yaga; however, Gojo doesn’t show much of an interest, and Gakuganji asks why they don’t feel hatred toward him for doing something so terrible. Gojo said that it was his fault that he got sealed, and he knew that the higher-ups made him kill Yaga. Panda, who was outside the room, was listening to everything, and Gojo asked Gakuganji about Yaga’s final words. He replied that Yaga revealed how to create a Cursed Corpse.

In the next panel, it is revealed that all the higher-ups have been killed, and Gojo remarked that if Gakuganji would have been the leader, things would have been the other way around. It hints that Gojo might be the one who killed all the higher-ups. After leaving Gakuganji, Gojo met Ijichi, who asked him why he wanted his help among all the people. Gojo replied that he was the one he trusted the most.

Now, back in the present day, Ijichi is preparing a barrier and is sad about his past actions. However, he feels motivated by the fact that Gojo believes in him, and he doesn’t want to bring down his expectations. The scene shifts to Utahime, who can be seen performing a dance ritual called “Solo Solo Kinku.” Her dance CT has the ability to enhance the CE output of others and her own. Everyone compiles to the dance ritual by dancing, singing, and performing hand rituals to activate their CTs. Gojo finally blasts a “Hollow Purple” attack toward Sukuna, which is 200% charged.

Sukuna senses the power of the attack but tries to handle it instead of evading it. The power of the attack is enough to bring down all the buildings in the way. Ijichi’s barrier turns out to be the reason for misunderstanding Gojo’s attack, but it is quite late to evade the attack, and Sukuna’s right hand gets badly burned as a result. Gojo then appears near Sukuna and says, “Seems like you are misunderstanding, so I’ll tell you, you are the challenger here.”
