Sega made multiple announcements regarding the Japanese commercialization ofJudgment, known asJudge Eyes: Shinigami no Yuigonin the archipel. First off, official commercialization will restart there on July 18 with a bargained version. It’ll be sold for 4540 yen plus tax.
This new version of the game has character Hamura Kyohei remodeled. In the original version, the character used to be modeled and voiced byPierre Taki, who got caught in a drug scandal, hence why the game’s commercialization stopped in the first place. This change will be present in the western version as well. Besides this, nothing else in the game was changed. It’s worth noting that if you played the original version but sold or lost it, you won’t be able to resume your save with this new version.
This new Japanese version ofJudgmentalso contains from the start the new Extra Easy mode which was added with an update and DLC items for free.
Moreover, players who already own the original Japanese version ofJudgmentwill still be able to see Pierre Taki’s acting in the game. In the end, Sega decided against updating via a patch the original version in order to remove Pierre Taki from the game. Yakuza Studio producer Daisuke Satoconfirmed it on Twitter.If you know Japanese and are interested in Pierre Taki’s acting, you’re able to buy a second-hand copy of the original version to see him.
Sega recently published abehind the sceneswith the English voice actor ofJudgment’s protagonist. Meanwhile, Yakuza Studio is currently developing the nextYakuzaPS4 game and is holding an audition for one of itsmain female characters. Lastly, Sega’s Toshihiro Nagoshi already confirmed thatSega isn’t planning to make sequels forJudgmentas of now.
Judgmentlaunched on August 23, 2025 in Japan, and will be available in the west on June 25, exclusively on PS4.
