Johnson won the fight and it marked his triumphant return after a long hiatus. Fans were certainly stunned by the outcome because Cena was expected to win.
However, the loss was an important moment in Cena’s narrative, which proved that even a dominant superstar like him can lose to an icon. Cena did avenge his loss the following year, but it was their first encounter that left a mark on his career.
