By prioritizing players’ feedback, Arrowhead improved various gameplay mechanics, shaping the game the way players want. In an interview withGamesRadar, production director Alex Bolle explained Arrowhead’s approach for theOmens of Tyrannyupdate,
Yeah, we’ve made mistakes. It’s like trial and error – Understanding the player has been something super fun and interesting… It’s kind of finding the magic recipe to make the game we want and they want — but who [are] ‘they’? – It’s something we talk about: ‘the potion that will match everyone’s needs.’ You can’t match everyone’s needs, but you can create different content, like we do. This update is pretty much that – it’s content for a certain type of player.
The game was on its last breath but Arrowhead was determined to make the game good again. As a part of its plan, Arrowhead first buffed up fan-favorite weapons and Stratagems to bring back players, and then it revealed theOmens of Tyrannyupdate, introducing the game’s third enemy faction, the Illuminate.

The way Arrowhead handled its latest controversy is remarkable. The first part of theHelldivers 2xKillzone 2collaboration featured a unique armor, cape, and weapon, however, the pricing was criticized.

Due to backlash from fans, Arrowhead announced that it isgiving away the itemsin the second part of this collaboration for free to all the players. The studio is listening to the fans and at the same time, making money from in-game purchases. The premium warbonds are priced perfectly, plus, players can earn Super Credits even if they don’t want to purchase them.
Many other video game publishers prioritize revenue over player experience and as a result, most games die out quickly. Arrowhead has found that balance and it took a long time for them to perfect this, proving that it is one of the best video game developers in the gaming industry.
