However, a report fromScreenGeeksuggests that Marvel Studios headKevin Feigeis looking to bring back the actor into the MCU. Majors’ Kang was introduced inLokiandAnt-Man 3as thenext Thanos-like villainin the franchise. He even had an overarching plot, which was later reconsidered after Majors’ firing.
Marvel is allegedly trying to move away from Kang to Doctor Doom as the main villain. However, this transition won’t be smooth unless the story can convincingly explain Kang’s absence. According to ScreenGeek’s sources, Feige’s intention to bring back Majors in the role is primarily to wrap up these loose ends involving Kang.
Feige and the studio are in the process of reworking the fifthAvengersfilm fromThe Kang DynastytoDoomsday. If Majors returns to the role, they could build a connection between Kang and Doctor Doom without raising questions about continuity. However, it is unlikely that Majors would return to the role in such a capacity after getting fired from it.
