Academy Awards are the most prestigious awards an actor or artist can win for their performance in the movies. However, every year a lot of people miss out on the awards, which is bound to leave some absolutely devastated. Cord Jefferson is one of the most talented screenwriters and directors the industry has ever seen. Jefferson has even won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series or Movie for his work on HBO’sWatchmen. Last year, he made his directorial debut by working on the movie,American Fiction, which has been nominated for 5 Oscar Awards at the 96th Academy Awards ceremony.

SinceAmerican Fictionwas his directorial debut, Cord Jefferson allegedly has a lot of ideas for his future projects. In a recent interview withDeadlineon the DGA Awards red carpet, the American director revealed that he wants to make an erotic thriller movie after he recently watched Adrian Lyne’sFatal Attraction,which was released back in 1984. He said,
“I am writing an erotic thriller right now. I just saw Fatal Attraction a few months ago. It was a little before my time when it first came out and I was like, ‘I know what this is about, I get it’ so I didn’t return to it but I finally returned to it and I was like, ‘Man, Adrian Lyne is a genius. He’s a genius.’ He’s incredible.

I want to do an erotic thriller and I’m also working on a neo-western that is also is like a noir. Both of them have similar themes to what’s in American Fiction through a much, much different lens”

Cord Jefferson further opened up about the cast he would want to work with in his movie.

Further in the interview, Cord Jefferson was asked about who would the actors be if he got to choose from his own personal preferences for this erotic thriller project. Jefferson revealed that he has a lot of actors in his mind. He said,
“Oh god so many actors I would love to work with. I know he’s retired right now, but I love Gene Hackman, and I really love Corey Hawkins, I think he’s incredible. Bryan Tyree Henry, I would love to work with him one day. Cynthia Erivo, I would love to work with her.

The list goes on and on. I am just getting started so hopefully, they want to work with me.”

American Fictionwas a massive commercial and critical success as it largely received positive reviews from fans and critics.
