Morena Baccarin is no stranger to the realm of superheroes. Having appeared as Vanessa Carlysle in each of theDeadpoolreleases and Leslie Thompkins inGotham, the actress is pretty well-versed in the Comic-book landscape. But while she has been vocal about playing a more comic-accurate version of Vanessa moving forward, this isn’t the lone comic-book role that has her enticed.

In the past, the actress has been pretty vocal about her desire to play Catwoman, and with the new DCU set to kickstart this December, fans are assured she’s the perfect fit for it.
Morena Baccarin Fits the Bill for DCU’s Catwoman
Although both Anne Hathaway and Zoë Kravitz excelled in tackling their respective takes on Selina Kyle, no one has come close to capturing her essence as Michelle Pfeiffer did inBatman Returns. However, fans are confident thatMorena Baccarinhas the chops to do the antiheroine justice and push the character to new heights in live-action.

Not only does she look the part, but Baccarin, who has been pretty vocal about her desire to tackle the Batman foe, once said that she identifies“more with the villains, Poison Ivy and Catwoman”.
Shes a bit older…and I say that as someone her age.so if it’s an older wayne…..game on!

I’ve never seen a more catwoman facehttps://t.co/8v6tuVGBWW
honestly I think she could kill it as catwoman, she just needs to be written well

I am definitely all for this.
But despite being the perfect fit for the character on paper, there’s one thing that might be going against the actress, the age factor. However, keeping in mind that the DCU is set to comprise a pretty experienced Batman, having a more seasoned Selina Kyle with Baccarin doesn’t seem too out of the ordinary for the new universe.
Zoë Kravitz’s Role inThe Batman Part IIRemains Uncertain
While it’ll be interesting to see if Baccarin will be allowed to continue her DC journey on the big screen with the gig of Catwoman, on the flip side,Zoë Kravitz‘s role inThe Batman 2remains ambiguous. Considering the ending ofThe Batmansees Selina leaving for Blüdhaven, it can’t be said for sure in what capacity she’ll appear in the sequel.

Moreover, even theDivergentstar is uncertain about her role in the sequel, revealingshe is yet to be contacted byMatt Reeves.
Matt [Reeves] goes into his hole when he writes. Again, he’s a super intense, detail-oriented director, so I just keep myself busy with things like [Blink Twice] until people call me.

But despite the uncertainty, Kravitz is hopeful about her journey in DC. With the first film only serving as an origin story for the character, there is room for much exploration in the following releases.
The Batman Part IIis slated to hit theatres on 13 July 2025.
