Valorant Might Have Banned Player’s Account For Using Tracker Software
A fan recently shared his disgust on a Reddit post (now deleted) regarding getting a ban for just using tracker software on his system. He has shared a screenshot of the message he got, in which he was informed that his account has been permanently banned for using prohibited third-party software along with the game. This action is also irreversible, which means the player is not getting his account back ever again.

The fan has stated that he was using a popular tracker called Overwolf. This tracking software has millions of users, yet he got banned. Not only this fan, but his friend also got banned, despite not using any other third-party app apart from Overwolf.

However, this fan put this post on ther/Valorantsubreddit, and that’s why the moderators have deleted the post as technical and account support requests are not allowed. They have advised the fan to share his query on ther/ValorantTechSupportsubreddit to get his issue fixed. He was also advised to send a support ticket for developers to look into this matter.
This is although not the first time Riot Vanguard,the anti-cheat system of the game, has banned players abruptly.
Is Using Valorant Trackers Leads to Banning?
The reason for this ban is quite strange, as Riot has previously stated that using tracker software is absolutely fine. In a fan tweet, Riot admitted that programs like Overwolf, Plays.TV and Blitz are okay to use, as these software mostly record gameplay or collect passive data about the game.

Overwolf itself has stated on itssupport pagethat using this software won’t get you banned. They have revealed that the company works closely with the game publishers and app developers, and their software complies with all the terms and conditions of the game.

And it’s true because, on their website, we can see that many developers have acknowledged the fair usability of this software. So, if we are talking about banning, you can never get banned for using Overwolf.
Hence, the reason for getting banned is still unknown to this fan. However, there are slight possibilities that his teammates were cheating while playing without the knowledge of the fan. So, that might trigger the anti-cheat system, Vanguard, as well.
Let’s see if Riot comes up with a solution for the fans and gets his account unbanned.
