Swift once called Kardashian the sweetest person but she doesn’t have that kind of relationship with her anymore. Swift recently relived the long-gone feud through her song,Thank You Aimee.

Interestingly, the person responsible for the feud, Kanye West, is now separated from Kardashian. West and Swift’s history began when he interrupted her acceptance speech at the 2009 VMAs and basically shared that she didn’t deserve the award. While they got over that incident later, West’s song lyrics in theFamousmusic video sparked another feud.

After the leak, Swift called out Kardashian on herInstagram stories, sharing that“somebody edited and manipulated [the video] to frame me and put me, my family and fans through hell for 4 years.”Kardashian responded in atweet, sharing that the video still proved Swift lied at the time when she said West never asked for permission.
Kardashian further tried to move past the feud when she and her eldest daughter, North West, were seen dancing in a TikTok video to Swift’sShake It Off(via Us Weekly). However, Swift addressed this moment in her songThank You Aimeefrom her 2024 album,The Tortured Poets Department. Swift’s lyrics read:

And maybe you’ve reframed it / And in your mind, you never beat my spirit black and blue / I don’t think you’ve changed much / And so I changed your name, and any real defining clues / And one day, your kid comes home singin’ / A song that only us two is gonna know is about you.
It meant that Swift was not ready to let go of the feud. Some critics believed that Swift should’ve taken the high road instead of reliving an old feud.
