While most wouldn’t have expected this from someone like Mark Wahlberg who doesn’t even look his ageat all, that is the wish of the 52-year-old actor: play a grandpappy on the big screen. As he shared withETon the set ofThe Family Plan, i.e. his recently released Apple TV+ film:
“I’m a dad now — embracing my old age. A lot of guys my age in the business would probably say, ‘Well, that character has grown kids or kids in their late teens, I don’t want to play that role.’ [But] I’m embracing that. I look forward to playing a grandfather soon.”
However, even that won’t make much of a difference among fans or in his career, considering his popularity won’t allow anyone to be foolish enough to give a sidekick role even to a grandpa playing Wahlberg.

“I just thought it was really fun. I think you see a lot of action movies — especially a lot of action comedies — and they don’t have as much character as this one had. I thought it was very interesting to find the family dynamic.”
