Xbox fans were visibly left hanging whenLEGO Horizon Adventures, the playful and lightheartedLEGOtwist on the belovedHorizonuniverse, was announced at the Summer Game Fest showcase. Developed by Guerrilla Games and Studio Gobo, this unique collab promises to bring the world ofHorizon: Zero DawnandHorizon: Forbidden Westto life in a whole new way.

But amidst the hype and anticipation, there was one glaring omission that left many fans scratching their heads: the lack of a release on the green team’s console. While the game is confirmed to launch during the 2024 Holiday season on PC, PlayStation, and even Nintendo Switch, Xbox players were left wondering if they’d ever get to join in on the block-based fun.
Guerrilla Games Dodges the Xbox Question
In a recentinterviewwith Stephen Totilo of Game File, James Windeler, the narrative director atGuerrilla Games, was asked point-blank about the possibility of a Series X/S release forLEGO Horizon Adventures.
Lego Horizon Adventures Confirmed to Launch with 1 Feature that Xbox’s Best Hope for Game of the Year Couldn’t Manage
His response? A masterclass in dodging the question:“You know, we don’t really have anything to announce about Xbox right now.”
So why didn’t you release on Xbox…. Guerrillapic.twitter.com/t36qz1637R

Windeler’s response has left many fansfeeling like they’ve been left out in the cold, with some even accusingSonyof being selfish and playing hard to get:
It’s gonna come back later. But they need to be called out for this. Xbox putting games on PlayStation so why this skipping Xbox . It’s bs

Others, however, remain optimistic that a release on the American tech giant’s console could still be in the cards, even if it’s not happening right away:
Means it’s coming later.Sony is always quick to say no to this questions.

The lack of a clear answer has left many Xbox fans in limbo, wondering if they’ll ever get to experience the joy of exploring aLEGO-fiedHorizonworld on their preferred platform.
The Waiting Game: Will LEGO Horizon Adventures Ever Come to the Green Team’s Console?
For some fans ofMicrosoft‘s gaming ecosystem, the prospect of waiting for a potential release down the line is simply not good enough. They want to share the excitement of smashingLEGOmachines and exploring a brick-built world (in co-op!) alongside theirPlayStationandSwitchcounterparts.
Guess you will never be playing it lol

At the end of the day, the decision to releaseLEGO Horizon Adventureson certain platforms and not others is a business one. Sony, as the owner of the Horizon IP, has the right to choose where and when to release its games.

But thatdoesn’t make it any less frustrating for Xbox fanswho feel like they’re being left behind. With Microsoft making moves to bring more of its exclusive titles to other platforms, some argue that it’s time for Sony to follow suit and stop playing favorites.
Only time will tell ifLEGO Horizon Adventureswill eventually make its way to Xbox consoles. Until then, all we can do is wait, hope, and maybe start petitioning for aLEGO Gears of Wargame to even the score!
What do you think about the decision to skip an Xbox release forLEGO Horizon Adventures? Is it a smart move by Sony, or simply a slap in the face to Xbox fans? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
