He may not be part of the now-demolished DCEU, but Zack Snyder is still remembered for his contributions to the franchise in its glorious early days. But in recent years, the flooding of the film industry with so much content concentrated around superheroes and connected universes, even he is feeling the overwhelming tiredness from it.

People have coined this phenomenon the Superhero Fatigue, which is the growing boredom of fans with more and more comic book films by major studios making people want to invest less and less in it, in recent years, the director has come to be one of its victims. But he isn’t alone in this, he has been joined by none other than DCU’s CEO James Gunn in the long list of names.
Zack Snyder Reveals That He Too Suffers From Superhero Fatigue
Considered to be one of the pioneers of the comic book and superhero genre of films in Hollywood today,Zack Snyder‘s vision for these films was beyond anything one would expect, which couldn’t be fulfilled due to unfortunate circumstances. Despite that, he still takes pride in the work that he was able to do with characters from the pages of DC Comics.
That being said, he also revealed that he may be feeling the negative effects of so many superhero films in recent times.

In a recent interview withThe Atlantic, the300: Rise of an Empirestar talked about the surge and stagnation of superhero cinema, and why most people are uninterested in seeing more projects like these in the industry, which is due to superhero fatigue.
Unfortunately, even he is feeling it since there are no more standalone films with these comic book characters, which means that audiences need the commitment to them that they no longer want to do, especially with ever-expanding cinematic universes. He said:

“I have the same fatigue. No one thinks they’re going to a one-off superhero movie.”
While he may be the latest addition to the long list of celebrities experiencing this phenomenon, he’s not alone. In fact, DC Studios’ CEO James Gunn is already part of that expanding club of individuals.

James Gunn Also Accepts That Superhero Films Can Get Tiring Very Soon.
It’s one thing when Zack Snyder says that superhero fatigue is a real thing he is also experiencing. Still, the magnitude of those claims changes significantly when current DC Studios’ CEOJames Gunnaccepts that the phenomenon is highly contagious.
But unlike Snyder, the filmmaker has an alternate explanation as to why it’s the case. In a past interview withRolling Stone, he said:

“I think it doesn’t have anything to do with superheroes. It has to do with the kind of stories that get to be told, and if you lose your eye on the ball, which is character.”
If something isn’t done soon, then we may witness the collapse of an entire genre of films in the coming years in the industry.
