Before becoming Harrison Ford’s better half in 2010, Calista Flockhart was television’s sweetheart thanks to her extended stint as the titular protagonist in the popular series,Ally McBeal. For five seasons, Flockhart’s spunky lawyer entered living rooms all over the world and endeared herself to fans worldwide. Her success then led her to another hit show,Brothers and Sisters.

Following her marriage to Ford though, the celebrity went out of the public eye and stepped down from doing any projects barring a few key appearances, owing to her family commitments. Though the couple have never worked together in any project, Flockhart’s intentions have suggested that she did not push for this intentionally, but was open anytime to a collaboration with Ford if it happened organically.

In many instances, romances and subsequent marriages between Hollywood couples have started with their collaborations together in a film.Calista FlockhartandHarrison Fordthough, are an exception to that rule. TheAlly McBealstar and theIndiana Jonesactor have been married for almost 14 years, but their relationship did not stem from a film they did together.

In fact, Flockhart and Ford have never done a film despite meeting in 2002. After marriage, the couple went on to adopt a son Liam, which then prompted theBrothers and Sistersactor to step back from her acting career to spend more time at home. In a 2012 interview withThe Guardian,Flockhart elaborated on her decisions post marriage and said,

“Right now I’m focusing on sixth grade, football games and getting through homework. I have no big plan. I’m a normal mum and yes, I’m also a theatre junkie, but my family is my priority. That’s what guides me.”

TheSupergirlstar’s commitment to home and family could also have been the reason for not actively thinking about collaborating with her husband in a movie. While Flockhart has hinted that she was open and eager to do a film with Ford if the right project came by, she did not intentionally seek this opportunity as family was of prime importance to her at the moment.

Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford may not look like the ideal couple owing to their 22 year age gap.
