Zac Efron’s Co-Star Kept Reminding Him Of HisHigh School MusicalDays
Speaking withW Magazine, actorZac Efronrevealed that he was constantly teased by his co-star inThe Iron Clawby singing songs fromHigh School Musical. He remarked that it was already a common scenario for him, and he was pretty much used to it by now.
“People like to do that to mess with me. It’s pretty funny. We had a scene where we show up to a party where Stanley, I think, is singing a song. He performed it live, and then they just continued to move on to another song, and it was something from High School Musical.”

Still, Efron feels a sense of irritability whenever people try to bring up his past work because, as far as we know, he hated his character in the Disney film.
“I had to stay in character while that was going on, and everybody else was just losing it. The camera was on me, and I was just trying to stay in character. It put me in Kevin’s shoes a little bit. I felt very uncomfortable.”

Nonetheless, he found his training from all those dancing in the hallways of East High very useful. The actor claimed that it was similar to wrestling and that the learning curve there was to just go for it.
“Dancing and wrestling are surprisingly similar. There’s a choreographed element to both, and the more you do it, the better you get. Also, just the sense of moving with a partner: Sometimes you lead, and sometimes you’re holding on to the other guy.”

The Iron Clawwas released last month, courtesy of A24 and helmed by Sean Durkin. So far, it has an 88% score on Rotten Tomatoes and an 8.1 rating on IMDb.
