However, the actress later revealed that she had a hard time finding a producer who was willing to let her star in the movie, as many of them suggested casting a more experienced actress in the lead role.

The actress has shared that being a small-town person, who briefly tasted Hollywood success, she drew inspiration from her own experiences to explore the dynamics of local fame and ego in the film. However, when she started pitching the script, many producers advised her against starring in the movie.

In an interview with Mayim Bialik forKveller, Rauch shared that she was rather suggested that an established actress could make the film easier to make.

When we first sent out the script, we were fortunate to get some interest from some highly accomplished producers who said they very much wanted to do it, but politely suggested the film would be easier to get made with another female actress in the part who was already more established in film.

However, Rauch stood firm, believing the role was tailor-made for her and would be the perfect opportunity for her to build her film career.“How else am I going to become ‘more established in film’ if I give away a role that was very much tailor-made for me to someone else?”she further shared.

Rauch, drawing inspiration from Stallone’s determination, used his story as motivation during her own journey to find a producer who believed in her vision forThe Bronze.

I could not help but think of Sylvester Stallone and how he held onto “Rocky” when the same had been said to him. So, we held out and ended up finding the most incredible producer… who believed in me from day one.

The Big Bang Theorystar also recounted sharing her own resilience with Stallone, explaining howRockyinspired her.

She shared,

I was able to relay the Rocky inspiration to Mr. Stallone personally last year, and his response to me, without missing a beat was, “You had to! Trust me, you would have regretted it the rest of your life.” He then added, with a wry smile: “Feels good doesn’t it?”

She admitted that it did feel good to see her vision forThe Bronzefinally come to life. The film was eventually picked up, with Rauch starring in the lead role, and premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival.
