“Hey it’s Jack Quaid,”says Quaid at the start of the trailer ofNovocaine. However, it feels more like Hughie fromThe Boysand less like Quaid fromNovocaineas the trailer progresses.

It seems that Hughie’s character took Comp V in The Boys and was accidentally transported into an alternate timeline where he could not feel any pain. That’s not the whole premise of the movie, though. The whole premise… is just a little less than that.
Jack Quaid’sNovocaineis Hughie in an alternate timeline
The official trailer for Quaid’s upcoming film titledNovocainehas been revealed and fans are already showering it with lots of love and shares. However, the concept of the film might be somewhat similar (and completely different) toThe Boys.
In the Amazon show,Jack Quaidportrays the role of Hughie Campbell, a timid ordinary person whose girlfriend dies due to a superhero on drugs. Waging a war against the “supes”, Hughie joins The Boys to fight (while being scared) against the tyrants.

Well, inNovocaine,Jack Quaid is a person who cannot feel any pain. Be it bullet wounds, shrapnel, glass, or anything, his character cannot feel any pain. Things go wrong sideways when his girlfriend gets kidnapped and Quaid has to do everything in his power to save her.
Although there isn’t much to the story here, the premise of a man unable to feel pain is intriguing. Moreover, Quaid portrays the role as if Hughie Campbell were transported into an alternate timeline as he is still a timid person who cannot see the sight of blood.
