Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has given us some of the best beat-em-up games over the years, which is why people were very excited when Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revengewas first announced last year. The game is branching out from the usual four playable characters only and that includes having to unlock the fan-favorite Casey Jones.
Shredder’s Revengegoes back to the past as a successor to games likeTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade GameandTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles In Timewhere you play through a series of side-scrolling levels.
These games typically only have the four Turtles playable, but we were glad to see that both Master Splinter and April O’Neil were announced as playable as well. Then just last week came the announcement of Casey Jones being playable in the game, but you’re going to have to unlock him first.
Who is Casey Jones?
Casey Jones dates back to a one-shot TMNT comic by Mirage Studios in 1985, but the way that most discovered TMNT was through the 1987 animated series. However, while people really associate him with the Turtles there, Casey Jones was only in five total episodes.
Where Casey Jones really came to prominence was his appearance in the first live-actionTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesfilm as played by Elias Koteas. That is where the character really started to blow up and started becoming one of the major players in the series.
This includes major appearances in not only future movies and animated series, but also video games beginning withTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters. He has appeared in a number of other games that have now led to his appearance inShredder’s Revenge.
How To Unlock Casey Jones In Shredder’s Revenge
While Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo, Splinter, and April are able to be selected right from the start inShredder’s Revenge, Casey Jones will take some work to unlock in the game before you can use him.
The good news is that unlocking Casey Jones inTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revengeisn’t too overly difficult, though it will take you a couple of hours.
To unlock Casey Jones, you have to play through the entire story mode one time. After the completion of story mode, you will get a message on the screen letting you know that you have now unlocked Casey Jones for use in the game.
As of now, it appears he is the only unlockable character in the game. It will be interesting if any future updates may add other characters to the mix, but for now, Casey Jones is the seventh and final fighter inShredder’s Revenge.
