Horizon Forbidden West has been one of the biggest releases of this year, and the game is already subject to widespread review bombing on Metacritic.

The latest iteration in the Horizon franchise is finally here, and it has managed to receive quite good reviews by fans and critics at launch. However, if you have been following the game on social media and Metacritic lately, you might be well aware of the review bombing that has been going on in the past few days.

Horizon Forbidden West Review Ratings Soar Amidst Review Bombing

One might wonder what the real cause of this review bombing is. Well, the reviews do state the reason for their negative feedback, but it does seem quite exaggerated. Most of the reviews point out that the game has a lot of bugs, and that has made it unplayable for them. While that is true to some extent, it isn’t as bad as they are making it to be.

There are a number of bugs in Horizon Forbidden West, and those are pretty small ones that are quite customary to an open-world title. If you have played a Ubisoft open-world title, you might have witnessed many more than that. Basically, the Horizon Forbidden West review bombing is just another result of the console wars, and it’s not that we have only witnessed it happening for PlayStation games, the same is quite frequent for Xbox exclusives as well.

The good news is that the review ratings are finally soaring. Initially, when not a lot of players have played the game, the review ratings are easily influenced by a few negative reviews, but as more and more players are finishing the game, the ratings are finally rising, and at the time of writing this article, it is at 8/10 with Generally Favorable Reviews. At the time of launch, it was barely around 4/10. With the critic score already at 88, it shouldn’t be long before we witness the user reviews reaching closer to the 90 mark as well.
