There are 6 potions that you can brew in the game, and each requires a different set of ingredients and requirements. To make your crafting easier, we have put together every potion, its ingredients, and how to make it in this guide.
Where To Purchase Potion Recipes
After youattend Potions Classfor the first time, you might be wondering how you can obtain the recipes for potions to craft them on your own. Luckily, it’s as simple asvisiting J. Pippin’s Potions in West Hogsmeade.
You can use theWest Hogsmeade Floo Flameto get here, and when you get inside you’ll find all the recipes that he has for sale. This includes theFocus Potion Recipe for 1,200 Galleon, Thunderbrew Recipe for 1,200 Galleon, Invisibility Potion Recipe for 800 Galleon, and Maxima Potion Recipe for 500 Galleon.You will already have the Wiggenweld Potion and Edurus Potion recipes from Potions Class, so you won’t have to worry about obtaining them.
After you have purchased your recipes, there is one place in particular where you’re able to brew up some potions:The Room of Requirement.While you technically can use the Potions Classroom as well, It’s important to open up the Room of Requirement, so you can more easily farm potions and ingredients and save some time.

Knotgrass Sprig can begrown in the Room of Requirement.You can purchase theseeds from The Magic Neep for 350 Galleon, or you can buy them pre-made for 150 Galleon.They will require the use of asmall pot, which comes with the Room of Requirement when you unlock it.
Troll Bogeys can be obtained fromdefeating any kind of troll.The best place to find them is tospot their lairs on the map,but you’ll want to be prepared as these are some of the strongest enemies in the game. You can also purchase Troll Bogeys fromJ. Pippin’s Potions for 100 Galleon.

Thunderbrew
Thunderbrew is a potion that willstun and damage any nearby enemies.This potion can be a great way to have something by your side to deal additional damage along with your spells. To make it, you will need the following ingredients:

Shrivelfig Fruit can be grown in the Room of Requirementonce you obtain its seeds from The Magic Neep for 450 Galleon. It will require the use of a medium pot. You can alsopurchase it pre-grown for 150 Galleon.

Maxima Potion
The Maxima Potion willincrease the drinker’s spell damage for a limited amount of time.Should you need a bit of a buff to your spells, this potion is an ideal option. Focus Potion

Edurus Potion
