Back in February 2023, gamers andHarry Potterfans were given one of the best gifts imaginable asHogwarts Legacywas finally released after many years of development. Since the game’s release, gamers have been casting spells, finding mystical beasts, and exploring the wide, open world that the game provides.

AfterHogwarts Legacy’s massive popularity, it is entirely understandable that the developer, Avalanche Software, would be looking to keep up theHarry Potterhype with a sequel. With the first game’s overwhelming positive feedback, it would make sense that the second game would expand on the already expansive world that players have enjoyed exploring over the past year, but ifHogwarts Legacy 2is aiming for Game of the Year, then there are a few things that could be improved.
What Could Hogwarts Legacy 2 Do to Improve on the First Game and Boost It to Be the Next Game of the Year?
Over the past year, gamers all around the world have been logging intoHogwarts Legacyin an attempt to live out their fantasy of being a witch or wizard who is invited to go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and explore the expansive grounds around the school itself.
After the game’s release, players began swarming the servers as they were able to finally log in and live out their fantasy, even if it was only a game. However,Hogwarts Legacywas very good at making you feel like you were actually living in this magic-filled world.

Whether it was the magical beasts that you could capture and take care of in the room of remembrance, becoming the school dueling champion, or even just flying around on a broom or a magical creature as you take in the beautiful sites of the game world around you.
Alas, even for a game as great as this, with a wide-open world full of secrets and quests to find and explore, there will always be some features that gamers will miss. If Avalanche Software moves ahead with creating a sequel toHogwarts Legacy, then there will understandably be a few changes that many gamers would request, which would boost the game in numerous ways.

SinceHogwarts Legacywas released, there has always been one feature that many gamers requested, which sadly hasn’t appeared in the first game but could become a reality in the sequel, and that is co-op.
What’s better than being a magical being who can cast spells and ride mystical beasts? Being able to do those things with a friend, and that is why so many gamers have requested this feature, as they would love to be able to share the many experiences that spread throughoutHogwarts Legacy, whether that be dueling your friend, beating them in a race, or even just taking a stroll by the beach.

Another feature that was heavily requested and sadly ignored was the ability to play Quidditch. One of the big fantasies thatHarry Potterfans have is being able to play a game of Quidditch and being able to capture that golden snitch to win the game, and since the spin-off Quidditch game that is still in the works is being pushed back even further, it would make sense for it to be added toHogwarts Legacy 2,even as a small mini-game.
One feature that not many gamers asked for, but understandably would make sense within the world ofHarry Potter, is a curfew system. Since you are a child in a school in which dangers lurk just outside the gate, it would make sense that the teachers would keep you restricted from leaving the school after dark, right?

Sadly, this feature was missing in the first game, and many players felt this was a missed opportunity, especially for a single-player game, as it wouldn’t have to rely on the internet to match up multiple players in the same time frame.
Finally, one of the last features that a select group of gamers asked for was the ability to create friendships with anyone in the school, whether they be in a different house or even a random NPC. Players were looking forward to the ability to have the full Hogwarts experience by meeting all of the students, prefects, and even teachers and becoming their friends.
IfHogwarts Legacy 2was able to adapt these different mechanics into the game, then it would surely become the next Game of the Year, but that would be a major if, as there would be a lot of work to put in to create such a giant game with all of these features and more that we didn’t include in this article.
