There’s no doubt that Helldivers 2 is one of the most popular PvE games available right now on PS5 and Windows. Amid the Galactic War, you play as a Helldiver and take the fight against aliens to protect your home planet. Arrowhead’s title brings players an exhilarating shooter experience that we’ve never seen in the gaming landscape before.
However, based on some recent clips on Reddit, the fight against aliens is about to become more chaotic. While the community has already been spread thin, fighting on two separate fronts to eliminate the forces of the Terminidis and Automatos, a third faction known as the Illuminate looks to be creeping into Helldivers 2.
Helldivers 2 Player Believes They’ve Discovered The First Illuminate Ship
If you’ve played the original Helldivers, you’re probably familiar with the Illuminate. They’re one of the most highly advanced civilizations and are incredibly powerful and threatening. When Helldivers 2 launched, many players were disappointed not to see the faction in the game. However, over on Reddit, some players believe they’ve already spotted the first Illuminate ship in Helldivers.
In the clip, the player looks at a massive ship right in front of a glowing white planet. However, the ship suddenly disappears when the player fires a cannon shot at it.While many players were hyped to see the faction’s arrival hinted at in the game, a few doubted and believed that the ship was probably from another faction.

Another player stated that the Illuminate favored spherical designs for their ships, based on the original Helldivers, and their ships are probably orbs. While we can all debate whether or not it was an Illuminate ship, there’s no doubt that we’re soon going to see this faction in the game.

Who Are The Illuminate in Helldivers 2?
The Illuminate, also known as the Squi’ith, is an ancient alien species that wear ceremonial robes and uses powerful psionic projectiles and barriers. They also have incredibly advanced cloaking technology, instantly allowing them to become invisible on the battlefield.

The Illuminate proposed a peace treaty for Super Earth in the original game. However, our government declined it because it was scared of its obliterator bombs. Although it’s been claimed that they were wiped out by the year 2184, there is plenty of evidence of them being out there.
When exactly we’ll see Illuminate in Helldivers 2 still isn’t clear. However, with more and more player sightings and information being datamined, they’re likely to join the galactic war soon.
