Exclusively launched for PlayStation, this game really made Xbox fans happy after they missed out on another popular game for the Sony console,Helldivers 2.
A recent report describes how this free-to-play experience for PS Plus users has almost lost all of its player base; more specifically, 95% of users who dropped the game will probably never come back.

The game is exclusive to PS4 and PS5 and is not going well.Foamstarsplayer numbers are drastically declining, and the Square Enix multiplayer title has lost more than 95% of its player base. This title has only been released for two months, and things could not look worse.

The studio has several seasons planned, but players are required to be functional. The Japanese could make the ultimate decision and pull the plug on the game, closing the servers for good. Not many will miss this title, even if that happens.
Square Enix Could Still Revive the Almost Forgotten Title
Since the first trailer was revealed, gamers had automatically assumed thatFoamstarswas some kind of hit Nintendo Switch title,Splatoon. With three very popular games, this franchise has become something big for Nintendo. The Square Enix knock-off has not accomplished enough to make fans play the game or even make it appealing to new players.

There are a few strategies to attempt to revive this almost doomed IP. Square Enix could try to make the game fully free-to-play even for players that don’t have PS Plus; it can also try to launch the title on other platforms like Xbox or Nintendo Switch. But even by doing all this, it is probably too late to makeFoamstarsrecover from losing all of their player base.
The studio did not even make a marketing campaign to promote the title; it came out with almost no buzz at all. Other recent live-service titles have added new content and solidified the player base for future survival. Other games, such asHelldivers 2andPalworld,are planning to avoid losing more players and build a large community to ensure many years of success.
