9Tamiya Gantetsusai
Tamiya Gantetsusai is a skilled swordsman known as the Blade Dragon and Eight Provinces Unparalleled in Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku. He joined a mission to acquire the Elixir of Life for the shogun in exchange for a pardon. Gantetsusai has immense endurance, a high tolerance for pain, and impressive physical strength. He is also an exceptional swordsman, capable of performing delicate swordplay and creating air-compressed slashes that can slice through objects.
Gantetsusai is not very disciplined and prefers to fight opponents head-on without a clear strategy. However, he is honorable and does not attack unconscious opponents. He also gives nicknames to people and remembers the names of those who made a big impact on him. Gantetsusai has the ability to use the sensation of Tao with his swordsmanship, making him an expert in swordplay, and he can perform delicate techniques such as Neck Flap with precision.
Ju Fa is the guy who defeated the Aza Brothers in less time than it takes to brew a cup of tea. He made his debut in Chapter 16 of the manga. He’s not just a pretty face, as he possesses impressive physical abilities and mastery over Fire-attribute Tao as well. With his god-like Tao, he can sense his opponents' weak spots and launch invisible projectiles from a distance with his Toate technique.

But Ju Fa’s real party trick comes from his Kishikai state, where he fuses with his partner Tao Fa to create a giant, flying bird monster that can launch vines and spores and even infect opponents with uncontrollable laughter. Talk about being a two-for-one deal! The only downside is that the transformation can only last up to half an hour, so verify to set your stopwatch if you ever face him in battle.
Zhu Jin, the flower king and sibling of Ju Fa, was one of the most fearsome and powerful beings in Kotaku. With their stunning appearance and deadly abilities, they are a force to be reckoned with. Zhu Jin’s flower-like appearance and petal-shaped hair made them look like they stepped straight out of a garden, but don’t be fooled by their floral facade. They could create craters on the ground with their bare hands and had Tao abilities that could easily puncture their opponent’s body with just a single finger.
Zhu Jin’s Kishikai transformation made them look like hibiscus flowers on steroids. Their Yin and Yang forms acted as the flower’s style, and their four anthers protruded from the top. With their tentacle-like flower petals and lightning Tao blasts, they were a titan among men.
Shija seems like a bit of a wild card, don’t they? With their love for Gabimaru, willingness to die by his hand, and enjoyment of death, it’s a wonder they hadn’t lost his mind entirely! Their use of ninjutsu is equally as eccentric, with techniques such as Hairforged and Pyro Bridge. It’s a good thing Gabimaru has some powerful friends to help keep Shija in check.
It’s hard not to wonder what’s going on in Shija’s head. Do they really love Gabimaru, or is it just an unhealthy obsession? Either way, it’s clear that Shija is not someone to be trifled with. If they want to engage in a death match with Gabimaru, they’ll stop at nothing to make it happen. Hopefully, Gabimaru can stay one step ahead of him, or else it could be curtains for our hero.
Jikka may be a skilled and deadly samurai, but he also has a mischievous and reckless side to him. He has been known to take his duties as an executioner less seriously and instead indulges in vices such as drinking and carnal activities. In fact, he has even sold his sword in order to fund his carnal escapades. It’s a wonder how he manages to maintain his rank within the Yamada clan despite his reputation for being irresponsible and unpredictable.

Despite his flaws, Jikka can still be a valuable member of the team when he puts his mind to it. His intuition skills and swordsmanship make him a formidable opponent, and his quick-wittedness allows him to think on his feet and make split-second decisions. However, his tendency to act on impulse and indulge in his vices can sometimes get him into trouble, and it remains to be seen whether he can truly overcome his reckless tendencies and become a true hero.
4Aza Chobei
Aza Chobei, the Bandit King, is one of the strongest characters in the series, and for a good reason - he’s got the muscle and the brains to back it up. He was the leader of the second team sent to acquire the elixir of life on Kotaku, and despite losing his right arm in a battle with Rien, he continued to fight with determination and skill. Shugen’s dedication to his clan and his comrades is unbreakable, and he shows great concern for their safety on the island.
Shugen’s fighting skills are exceptional, as he is able to apply tremendous force to his sword and overwhelm his opponents with his Tameshi Itto-Ryu techniques. He uses the Kabutowari, Mura Shigure, and Kabutōchi techniques to devastating effect, displaying the same level of strength and skill as his fellow Yamada Asaemon. Shugen also has a unique Gaiden technique called Shunjin no Tsuki, which involves rapid piercing attacks from a distance, adding more force behind his blade.
Gabimaru the Hollow, the notorious shinobi assassin formerly from Iwagakure, is the main protagonist of the Hell’s Paradise series. He’s not just a skilled fighter but a character with a fascinating backstory. After being betrayed by his village, he’s on a mission to obtain the Elixir of Life to reunite with his beloved wife, Yui, and start a new life.

Rien is undoubtedly the strongest character in Hell’s Paradise, a determined lady with a god complex. She’s so determined to revive her late husband, Jofuku, that she’s willing to sacrifice all of humanity to do so. She’s got the power to back it up too. As a Tensen-class Sennin, she possesses otherworldly powers that make her unrivaled by mortals and even stronger than others of her type.
Despite her cold-hearted nature, Rien does have a sense of compassion and camaraderie. She mourns the loss of her subordinates and seeks vengeance for them. She even showed mercy and acceptance to Gabimaru, healing the wounds she inflicted on him and Sagiri before moving on to the afterlife. But let’s be real; the only thing more intimidating than her powers is her unwavering determination.
