There Are No Villains InDark Matter,Only Bad Choices!

The first thing that sets this show apart from other shows is that there are no villains in the story, per se. With characters making choices and facing the consequences of their actions,Dark Matterfeels like the TV version of the PlayStation gameUntil Dawn(minus the Wendigos).

Based on the the bookDark Matterby Blake Crouch, the story is about an expert in astrophysics who tries to untangle the mystery behind dark matter and in turn, gets deeper into the mystery. With an intriguing storyline and the brilliant acting ofJoel Edgertonin the mix, the show feels like a fresh series. In an interview withScreenRant+, the executive producers of the show Blake Crouch & Matt Tolmach praised Joel Edgerton for essentially bringing the humanity of his character into the spotlight.

I kind of cringe a little bit because I know how that last scene is written [in the book]. Very different in the show and that’s because of Joel.”
