Popularity can be a complex goal in a world filled with competition and factors that appeal to the eye. While some spend ages to leave a striking impression on people, some do it effortlessly. The perfect instance of this notion would be Itachi Uchiha, the S-Rank rogue ninja, who proved that having long hours of screen time is not necessary to have the whole fandom go gaga over you.

Masashi Kishimoto introduced the Clan Killer, where his introduction marks his conflict with Konohagakure. At first, everyone detested him for wiping out the entire clan, including his parents and friends, just for fun. However, those emotions contracted when we learned the reality behind his conflicted actions.
Later on, he was declared to be the unsung Hero of Konoha, and fans hold him dear to their hearts. Well, too dear to their hearts, as they turn a blind to the one core mistake that Kishimoto-Sensei has made with him.

Masashi Kishimoto’s fatal flow with Itachi Uchiha’s story
Of all the characters introduced byMasashi Kishimotofor his magnum opus, Naruto, the introduction of Itachi Uchiha has been the most prominent, some even call hima monster of a character. However, with great popularity comes great criticism; even the great Itachi was not an exception to this belief.
This often made fans question the action and the choices that justify his actions, where some call him the spy, who would send intel to Konoha about the Akatsuki. Throughout the series, Kishimoto-Sensei has displayed the Anbu Captain in a moral conflict, where most fans argue his status as a spy for the Village Hidden in the Leaves.

“He stated that he will never beat Itachi”: 5 Most Humiliating Defeats in Naruto
One fan was quick to raise questions onReddit, the first being if he would have kidnapped Kakashi for real while allowing Kisame to kill Kurenai and Asuma. The other was if he was dead serious about kidnapping Naruto Uzumaki after letting his partner cut off one of his arms or legs.
The fans were quick to notice, as they mocked him for taking hisrole in the terrorist organization a little too seriously. The fans commented,

As the fans responded to the post, his twisted sense of loyalty surfaced, explaining his role in saving Konohagakure from the shadows.
Itachi Uchiha and his Will of Fire
A major essence of the Shinobi series is the Will of Fire, which instigates a simple concept, that is, the ones who accept it are immensely loyal to the Hidden Leaf Village. One may doubt that Itachi Uchiha rejected this will and was a threat to the village, but they were wrong because, till his very last breath, he remained loyal to his village.
This was true when the backstory of Itachi was revealed, where he repressed his emotions to wipe out his clan because they were planning a coup d’état. To stop them, everyone was murdered, and he joined the Akatsuki because he made a pact with Obito that they would not attack the Leaf.

While it is mistaken that his role as a spy was to pass intel, it was a different one, which protected the village from any doom. This was evident because right after his death, Pain attacked the village, nearly taking out Tsunade and every Shinobi who was present at that moment.
However, that was not all because he turned the tide of the war, by undoing Kabuto’s Reanimation Jutsu, giving a head bump to his baby brother, and how he would always love him. While Kishimoto-Sensei gives himspecial status as one of the biggest prodigies ever in Konoha, his status remains a mere scapegoat because of the negligence of the village heads.
Narutocan be streamed on Hulu.
