Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror was hyped up a lot by the Marvel Studios in its last few projects. After the damage done to the universe by Thanos, Kang was supposed to be the next “big bad villain” of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but it all came crashing down when Jonathan Majors was convicted of assault and harassment toward his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.

Avengers 5to Get a Makeover After Jonathan Majors’ Dismissal?
Avengers 5will be a part of MCU’s Phase 6, along withThe Fantastic Four, Blade,andAvengers 6,as well as three unannounced films. An ocean of eyes is going to be onAvengers 5given the fact that it is the firstAvengersfilm to come after the groundbreakingAvengers: Endgamewhich fans loved so dearly. Naturally, fans have a lot of expectations from the next one.
Things seemed to be going in the MCU’s direction for a while thanks to the build-up ofJonathan Majors’ Kang. The film was also titledAvengers 5: The Kang Dynastybut now, the second half of the title has been removed and is a work in progress. So, the question is, what do we expect from the movie now that Majors is no longer a part ofKevin Feige’s superhero universe?

Well, according to a report byThe Hollywood Reporter, not only isAvengers 5going to get a new name for itself, but an entirely new focus as well. If this is true, it means that Marvel Studios is moving away from Majors and Kang for good.
The report also adds that theRusso Brothersmight be directing bothAvengers 5and6.According to THR, the discussions are only in the early stages right now so we shouldn’t be getting our hopes high.
However, if the Russo Brothers do end up directing the next 2Avengersfilms, the one thing that’s for certain is that fans won’t have to worry about the fate ofAvengers 5. After all, the Russo Brothers are responsible for some of the best MCU movies to have been released to date includingInfinity WarandEndgame.
Fans Know What They Want forAvengers 5
After learning that the nextAvengersmight be shifting its focus to something else entirely, fans of the MCU had a few ideas of their own about which direction the studio could go in.

While there was a plethora of reactions to the report, the majority of fans had the same idea of bringing one of the two most iconic supervillains from Marvel Comics to life – Doctor Doom and Galactus.
Of course, there are also a few who believe that instead of changing the focus, the studio could simply recast Kang going forward.

If either of the two supervillains manages to find their way into the MCU, it would not take fans long to forget about Kang and his story given just how iconic both Doctor Doom and Galactus are.
Well, only time will tell if the report is even true in the first place or not and whether fans will actually get to see either Doctor Doom or Galactus inAvengers 5.Since the release of the movie is all the way in 2026, who knows where the MCU could be headed? We are just going to have to be patient.
