Developer Illfonic, the studio behind theFriday the 13th: The Game, has just announced a new game based on theHalloweenmovie franchise.
In a twist of events, this isn’t just a multiplayer game, much like the studio’s past titles, but it will also feature a single-player component.

A trailer has been released alongside our first bits of information.
Halloween Game Will Feature Multiplayer And Single-Player
According to the press release, Halloween will be an asymmetric stealth horror game (think Dead by Daylight) featuring both single-player and multiplayer modes. Similar to past asymmetrical horror multiplayer games, players can take on the role of either the killer or a survivor (referred to as Civilians in the game).
If you’re playing as a Civilian, you’ll need to stick to the shadows to avoid getting massacred by Michael Myers. Your job is to seek out residents of Haddonfield and warn them about the killer, as well as a way to find out to contract the authorities.

Illfonic is said to be recreating the atmosphere of Haddonfield across multiple maps and “authentic” locations.
It doesn’t mention how many players will be able to band together to work against Michael Myers, but the developers did confirm the game is in development for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The big draw here is being able to play as Michael Myers, who will stalk the Civilians in the game. You’ll be able to cut the phone lines to prevent the police from helping out, and the game has been confirmed to support bots.
No release date has been set yet, other than sometime in 2026.
Chalk this up to another one of Illfonic’s titles based on a movie license, as the studio has released Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed in 2022, and Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game in 2024. Both titles are still supported, though not on a consistent basis.
Hopefully, Halloween will be supported for a long time. Friday the 13th: The Game, which was released in 2017,saw its servers shut just three years later in 2020. This time around, Illfonic can possibly tap into PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass to help bolster its player base right out of the gate.
